Ambassador

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Myanmar. I am honoured to be entrusted with the important task of representing Bangladesh as its Ambassador to Myanmar.

Bangladesh and Myanmar are close neighbours that share a common border stretching over 271 kilometers. Bilateral relations between our two countries are deeply rooted to geographical reality, shared history and people to people contact for many centuries. We have been enjoying a long history of friendship and cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1972, we have been able to promote and strengthen the existing relations on mutual interests.

This Embassy’s objective is to strengthen the bilateral relations, including repatriation of displaced persons of Myanmar, promoting trade, enhancing connectivity, traditional and non-traditional security cooperation, defence cooperation and people-to-people contact.

I do believe that if the two countries work together hand in hand for the peace and stability of the region, it will be mutually beneficial for our two countries and peoples.

Serving Bangladesh citizens in Myanmar is one of our main functions. The strong community of Bangladesh nationals who live here have become productive and successful members of the Myanmar society, and it will be my privilege and honour to represent and interact with them.

The website is designed to provide useful information about Bangladesh, services and activities of the Embassy in Myanmar, and build a bridge for friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Myanmar.

The esteemed visitors to our website, including students, travelers, business people, academics, friends of Bangladesh in Myanmar, are welcome to share with us their thoughts, and recommendations, as we strive to further improve our work.
